American Vice sounds like a reality police show but it's one of the better DVD/video on demand smut archives I've seen out there in awhile, with a variety of unusual qualities built in that will definitely make it worth your while to investigate. Even the title of this site clues you in that it was put together by guys with edgy panache and more than a dash of creativity mixed with their overall business/tech savvy setup. VOD is a growing trend, with quite a number of such sites popping up giving you yet another option to get feature length porn DVD's into your busy hands or hand as the case may be heh heh. And btw, the Pornmeister From Across The Pond was forced to excuse himself from doing this review, seeing as how it's AMERICAN Vice, not UK Vice lol.

American Vice has really gone over and above the call of duty to provide you with an amazing collection of continually updated DVD content, along with sophisticated search tools and special touches lacking in any other site of its type that I've seen so far. They clearly realize it's a competitive market out here, so they've done a few things right to insure that y'all "cum" back to visit real soon, ya hear! Wow, that sounded like a bad line from an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies (the guys at American Vice definitely appreciate a good joke!) but it's so true - they want loyal repeat customers, not just the one time, in and out crowd.

When you see their main page, it can feel a bit overwhelming, so I'd suggest you go to their "Support" link at the top of the page. That will give you some background as to who they are and how things are set up. They launched the site about four years ago, and their aim has been to provide great pricing, and fantastic extras like giving you five FREE movies at no obligation (all you need is a valid email address), to sample the wares. You can't beat that deal with a whip! If you don't want to commit to a monthly membership, you can also purchase individual tokens for viewing. It's nice to have both options. Many VOD sites only offer the "buy a token" deal which can get very pricey if you download more than a few scenes. When the price of one retail DVD can easily cost $20, it makes no sense in anyone's universe to buy over-priced DVD's. One month at American Vice will only set you back $17.95 (quite a good deal compared to others I've seen), which gives you access to their current archive of 2,345 DVDs, over 14,000 scenes, and that's a boatload of porn right there. You can stream or fully download all you want, in broadcast quality H.264. If you choose the token option, 3 tokens are $2.97, in increasing increments. Their best value is the yearly subscription of One Year ($99.95) which is only $8.33 a month for a whopping and quite diverse selection of videos.

They don't include extensive photo galleries with the vids, but each scene has 9 screencaps you can click on for a crisp clear sample of the action. In addition, these guys have perfected the art of the search - you can search by female type (asian, black, interracial, blonde, Euro, brazilian, etc.), attribute (teen, big tit, lesbian, costumes, tattoo, amateur, piercings, etc), scene type (threesome, gangbang, classic, outdoor,) and on and on! Other links include "light action" (blowjob, handjob, voyeur and more), "hard action" (anal, gagging, DP, cum swap, horse dick (!), sick and demented, gaper), fetish (midget, enema, pregnant, splosh (!), and male action (bisexuals, strap on, salad tossing and shemale), so as you can see, they've done a great job of covering all the bases in their choice of DVD offerings. You even get access to some XXXtra taboo content that's not easy to find such as the infamous Max Hardcore. There's really something here for everyone.

They also do an outstanding job with their porn star database - you can search by female AND male performer (unusual, since most sites generally only give info on the chicks), by alphabetical order, number of DVD's, number of scenes, a "Viceography" (a bio), and "vice rank". Not all performers have scores in these various categories, but it's a great resource to help you hunt down your fav girl or guy and narrow your crazed sex search! Believe me, this is a site with many layers, and really the best way to "handle" American Vice is just to play around with it (ooooh, that's naughty!) and dig into all the nookies and crannies. The "DVD Catalogue" link shows you what they've got, with a variety of ways to sort and filter - by title name, porn star, director filter, studio filter, and series filter. The studios include quite a number known for XXX hardcore action as well as mainstream, gonzo, and classic porn. From looking through the collection, it seemed pretty good and not just the bargain basement stuff you often run into at VOD sites.   

Another absolutely amazing element is their reviews. These guys write incredibly funny and no holds barred reviews of EVERY SINGLE DVD in their stable. When you click on a DVD you want to watch, you'll see front and back DVD cover which you can enlarge in a hi-res pic, with full info - date added, studio, director, length, cast, categories, and how many scenes it has (usually 6). If you're paying by token, they show how many tokens you'll need. You can play a sample clip (usually 30 seconds), and each scene has a set of 9 hi-res screencaps. But what really sets American Vice apart are these brutally honest scene descriptions - their "American Vice Reviews" - in which they quite often  hilariously and accurately diss the scene, which normally you'd  think would be  counter-productive , since they want to sell DVD's, right? But actually it works in their favor because they're only saying what we're all thinking anyway. They know you're there to download porn, and maybe you'd appreciate a few laughs along the way. Hey, it works for me! Here's a sample:

"I gotta laugh at how little time it takes Hillary Scott to go from "Hmmm, what is this thing?" to cramming it in her pussy. I read in JAMA that there is a connection hardwired into every woman's brain, which allows them to recognize phallic objects and insert them in their orifices. Guys have the opposite wiring. As you can see, these  guys  are very open about stating their opinions, negative or positive, about performers and their talent or lack thereof, calling it like they see it, which gives them credibility in my eyes, is super refreshing,  and I'm sure it doesn't hurt their bottom line one damn bit, in fact, just the opposite. We all know porn ain't Shakespeare! They also state that creating this type of content is extremely labor intensive - in other words, it takes a hella long time, effort, and sheer love of what they do to write all this entertaining stuff when they could easily just slam up a generic glossy scene description and do something else with their time - like get drunk and party! But no, the fine gentlemen at American Vice are better than that! More dedicated than that! Therefore my porn hat is off to them for all the work they obviously put into this site. More than anything else, I love to see a true porn work ethic and that's what they have! So, I hope that aspect doesn't change any time soon because I really enjoyed it.

To further expand on their review fetish (lol), click on "Vicelist" and you'll see even more of their very funny reviews of DVD's - over 1,800 to be exact! This is the equivalent of more than ten thousand articles. Again, this truly ups the entertainment quotient of American Vice.  They've made their site a destination not just to click, download and pay for videos blah blah blah, but an overall fun experience, much like reading a great blog would be. It's highly doubtful you'll ever find another VOD site quite like this one, simply because it takes very dedicated people to do it, day after day.  At the Vicelist, they venture into a variety of reviewing arenas, including website reviews (hey guys, you're invading our review turf! Well, that's okay, we'll let you play along, just don't get too cocky! lol) and sex toy reviews. There's some links still in development, such as Escorts and Dating, Strip Clubs, Pharma and Herbals (hmmm, wonder what that might be?) and The Shit List. Wow, I can't wait to see their "take" on those subjects! Gotta wonder what The Shit List is gonna be! A link at the top navigation area that says "Reviews" is a collection of banners/links of reviews of American Vice by outside porn review sites (like ours!). A bit confusing, maybe they should clarify that somewhat.

As the savvy social networking mavens they are, they give a link to their Twitter page, which is great so you can give them feedback, or just give 'em hell lol. Like, tell 'em to fuck off! Just kiddin, they'd luv it!

Videos can be downloaded in streaming MP4 portable/computer/DVDor full download. American Vice indicates that they have ceased using the WMV format in favor of the higher quality MP4 hi-def. I found the quality to be very good in several of the vids I sampled, although videos shot in earlier years may vary somewhat.

The "My History" link lets you keep track of the videos you've viewed and you can also save them to your favorites, and the "My Account" link shows you the status of your account, your account info/settings, history, upgrades, etc. Billing and contact links round out the general site support areas.

When you add it all up - a large and continually updated selection of diverse videos to suit many tastes, including hardcore and fetish, five free movies to sample upon registration, plus a great effort from these guys to provide you with that added entertainment boost to make it all worthwhile, there's no reason not to highly recommend a membership to the unique destination known as American Vice!
